it was the last day in school. we went to school for the screening of all the P1 videos. that was a last day, we watched all the videos on that day itself. fortunately, there was break in between. if not, i think i would not last long in the LT. however, i think it was a good learning experience for this P1.

Wahidah asked us to do this final post, so here goes.

I'm humbled. Seriously. Its not like I was expecting to be better than anyone else when I first came to MOI, but there was more than one moment where I sat back up on my chair and thought, " Why didn't I think of that?".

It was good. We got to see the works of others. In a way, the videos reflected not just their creativity or talents, but also how hard they worked. Im not saying that anyone in particular was lazy/shoddy about P1, I'm giving everyone the benefit of doubt that you all worked. But, what I'm saying, is that if anyone worked hard and got a video standard equivalent to that hardwork, I take my hat off to you, NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOUR VIDEOS. If not, you have my sympathies.

So in terms of a reflection, I am humbled. Not crushed, But just humbled.

Wow, that's 2 months come and gone.

Seriously, MOI P1 has been a disturbing, yet enjoyable subject, and I look forward to P2.

Now, for a little de-briefing. Guys, for better or for worst here we are. We are almost done with MOI. Good Job, for all your contributions. We all learnt a really good thing from MOI, which is that last-minute work, is a fatal a killer as heart attack. Seriously, I work hard on normal occasions so this does not happen. Anyway....

Wen Jun, thanks for the help you gave. Despite the fact that your silence can be unnerving you have proven to be very reliable, a little eccentric and very focused. Just a side note. Speak Up. Seriously. You should speak up more.... Have a nice rest during the holidays.

Samantha, I read your most current post. I refuse to accept your apology. Before anyone goes around getting angry for my being " unreasonable ", READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK OF DOING ANYTHING ELSE. You have made contributions, I will not deny that. You also made attempts to straighten yourself out. I say "made", because your attempts were not consistent. Look, you being my friend and all, I really don't want to make this so blunt. So I polish it down to one sentence. " Be serious, and focused.". You know why I say that. Now coming back to why I refuse your apology. If you typed that apology in your blog without the slightest intention of changing, or if you have forgotten, then that apology was useless. I don't to know that you are sorry, but I want to see that you are. And that does not mean grovelling, that means when I see you in future blocks, you are doing your work when you have to and not pushing it aside for something else less important.
Call me mean ( NOW YOU PEOPLE CAN START FLAMING ME AND GOD-KNOWS WHAT!!!!), but I'm fine with that. You are one of my friends in TP. Consider it that this is an attempt from one friend to help another. Have a good rest during the holidays, and hopefully change yourself while you do.

Wow, all that talk. Okay, its time to stop being serious. I'm tired of having a serious face for the last two months, so I'm trying to remember how to truly laugh and smile again. I've got a whole holiday ahead to do that. Anyway,I'm gonna try to pre-occupy myself during the holidays. Waking up early and Jogging, as well as library visits. Sounds good to me. ( Have to get that book called " Being Happy" ).
The holidays will also be for some revision of animation and whatnot. Yes, I've made up my mind. Until something happens to tell me not to, I going to animation. 2D to be exact. That means I'm gonna have to get some drawing books during the holiday.
For those of you worried that I have no life, relax. I'll be on MSN more, and Its Gaming time too. I might reconsider maple, though strategy games would favoour me more. Oh yeah, I'm interested in getting a new game, so yeah, I'll have enough entertainment for one holiday. Yeah!!!!

Oh yeah, Special thanks to Joseph and that guy he was with at the printing shop. ( I'm so sorry I forgot your name.). Thanks for letting me use the computer first. To those who don't know, I lined up at a very-busy printing shop, and when I got to this computer, I let others go first cause there was another computer next to it. A girl was printing her stuff, and I thought she would be done soon. T'was wrong of me to assume. She printed out her work, and didn't like it. So, She started re-working it on the computer. Then, she invited her friend to print out stuff too. After her friend finished printing, she got back to work.I stood there for around 30 minutes waiting. So thanks, to people who noticed me waiting for Kingdom come, and decided to let me use their computers first.

for yesterday and today, we were working on some animation, editing, audio and stuffs. and we have finish most of the parts that needs to be done for our video. the rest we will finish it tomorrow, then we will compile it. i heard that rendering and exporting the whole video will take a very, very long time. so i think we have to finish fast to save time and submit our video before 3pm.

things hasn't been nice for us. i met caleb at around ten in the morning. we did some last minute compilations before we went for the interim two. our interim two sounded more like a consultation kind. after the interim, we continued with our P1 video and add in some parts that alfie suggested to us. left school early to make time for DesH&C.

today i went to school to edit the montage for the 3D Art fundamentals. and then i compile the video of my segment using premier pro. after doing so, i realized that there is some parts of the video that doesn't match the script. therefore, now we have to improvise on both the video and the script. and that is only my segment.

Wow, I have not posted any entries for so long now...

Anyway, I've been busy. Let's summarise it since the 5th week of P1

5th week - Don't ask me what we were doing. All I remember is that it was really messy, and we were doing things that I highly suspect are useless by now.

6th week- We've been shooting, and having to deal with tech. problems, and last-minute changes. We also had to deal with other course aside from P1.

7th week - Holy crap I'm still alive. Personally, I want to die. This week has been a case of running around, having editing issues, and what not. I'm tired. Really tired.

I realised we have a problem. Not that this is the first, but I think this might be the worst one yet. Consider it this way, we are deviating too much from our original ideas. Or at least I have. Some of the things in our roughcut do not exist in storyboard, and were simply put in as a way of improvising. Seriously, we gotta stop doing this. By tomorrow, once we have finished narrating, I would like a CLEAR picture of what we are doing. No more changes unless we are tweaking the video, nothing more. Besides, it is time we did a reality check.

Are you guys really confident that we can not only submit something that is good, but also on time?

The dry run of the final presentation moved back to Monday!
Yeah this exclaimation had to be posted a day later cos i got no time yesterday.

Anyway, i rather faster get that done so we know where to improve.
Today we'll be finishing the rough cut. Without sound.
Tomorrow we'll be doing the narration and voice overs. Hopefully add in some background music as well.
Saturday we'll be doing the final wrap up, add in whatever we haven't, and discussing all our problems and what's left to be done.

Monday after the presentation, we'll be starting on the effects.
Tuesday we'll continue with that.
We SHOULD be done by Wednesday.

Ah well, that's all thats planned anyway.
Lets just hope nothing happens.

Today the 3D animation lab's power tripped.
Whole lab no electricity for about uhh... 15mins to half an hour.
Then when they recovered the electricity, my comp and WeiRu's comp still didn't work.
So we went to ask for the technician, who by chance went for lunch.
So we did nothing for the next hour or so. =A=

Well it's not as bad as that day when we came at 9am and starts on our digitizing by 4+.
So yeah, accidents happen.
Just brace for impact.

I started to do the 3D Art Fundamentals montage yesterday. and then we continued to do our editing for the rough cut which we thought we need to show it for the interim two today. however, alfie pushed the interim two to monday. we have more time to edit but at the same time, we only have a few days left to edit our mistakes after our interim two.

We spent the morning shooting another scene.
And from around 10am when we finished it all the way to 4.30pm, we didn't do anything.
Our poor school only owns three machines.
Two are spoilt.
Only one left working.
Minus the gazillion firewires that are not working.
Plus the mac that keep crashing.

We let kester go first cos he knew the password to access the computer in the first place.
After many crashes, finally came our turn at around 4.30pm.
Rushed and captured as much as possible.
Just when i finished capturing, i was chased out.
So yeah, i left all the videos in the file in the computer.
Gotta go early tmr to get it out...

today we went to school, we do some of the stop motion scenes for sam's part of the video. stop motion is never easy. we spent a few hours just to do an approximately 15 sec on the video. however, i guess it will be worth it to spend our time on when we finally finish and see the results of our video eventually.

We finished more film scenes yesterday. Now left with 2 more scenes before we're done with collecting all the footage.
May be doing editing first today.
We have to finish shooting the rest by tomorrow or else we won't have enough time for the animation.

We're supposed to be at the hereafter to digitize our work yesterday, but we couldn't enter the place, after some desperate knocking, Jack, Jake, whatever his name is, came out to tell us we can't digitize our work that day cos we don't have a macbook and he doesnt have the equipments that day.

So, i went home to shower and rest and finally got a good night's sleep after weeks of torture.

did some filming today. started off with shooting the behind the scene of other people. then we shoot a fast walk-through into the school. after that, we went to shoot the scene at the triangle garden. so far, things are going quite smoothly for our production i guess. i hope we can finish p1 soon!

we brought the candles to school today to do the stop motion for our "3,2,1" in each part of our video. we had to find a place in school to do this. the most important thing is that we can light candles in the school premises, without getting and scoldings and stuffs. therefore, caleb and me decided to go to the general office to look for alfie and ask for permission and place to do our candle stop motion. good thing we did it. if not we have to postpone our shoot.

today our group met up for further discussion and we went around the school to take pictures. these pictures would be use as the scene for our character mascots, so animation would be done using the scenes being taken today. i hope we could finish this project on time.

I have quite a lot of things to finish before I can sleep tonight, so I'll make this quick. We start production tomorrow. Since there is nil chance we will find any available cameras, we will do other things first. TOmorrow will be stopmotion.

At this point allow me to confess to my mistake of assuming that since filming is one of the first few things in the video, we should do it first. Wen Jun and Sam had to point out to me that we could always do other sections first.

we have finally finished our actual interim 1. now i think it will be very tough for my group to work together, because sam has class in the morning from 9-12pm, whereas caleb and i have class during 3-6pm. the only time we are able to do work is during P1 class and after 6pm. i guess i will have a lot group work to do.

we just finished our dry run for interim 1. we know what we can do and we cannot do with our current knowledge. we also had gotten opinions from both alfie and the class. storyboard is almost done, the only thing is whether we need to change it or not. production starts next week, hope we can cope with the post production and stuffs because the three of us all have two modules together. just hope. i think the things that we will be doing first are most probably the script and the complete storyboard. i heard that DesH&C will need to do a lot of research and groupwork. this means we have to stay in school to do work till late.

We had the ppt today. Alot of changes and re-thinking must be made. I told the rest of the group to confirm what characters that they want to use for the video. THen, I told them to go back and tweak up their portions within the synopsis. That way, they'll be familiar with what they want to do. Besides, they will also be able to adjust the level of work and standard they have to meet up to. Hopefully noone gets stressed.

Then, I told them to go research somemore on moodboards considering that the music we put up for presentation did not really fit.

Another thing that has come to mind. We really should give Wen Jun more duties/work. It occurred to me just now during dinner, that I did not give the job of making final edits to the ppt to Wen Jun, who is more free than Sam, as she has Design H&C work to do.

They're everywhere !!!! I'm talking/screaming about cockroaches. I'm having a roach problem at home. I've seen/killed/had to go through the agony of cleaning up five of them now, in the period of 3 days. I foresaw this problem when my parents decided to go to Australia, but THIS IS WORSE THAN I THOUGHT!!!!

FYI, I hate roaches. I am not even an inch close to being tolerent toward them. Everytime I see them, I see the face of people who used to laugh/pick-on at me. It's creepy...

Day 10

I've been getting these strange writings around my block.Things like " I see dead roaches " and " They're alive!!!! They're alive!!! ". I've tried to ignore them, but today when I was going through my mail, I saw an unmarked enveloped directed to me. Inside, it read, " Stop ignoring the graffiti or else...". Its really wierd. And another thing is my neighbour. You know, that irritating guy who likes to renovate his house in the middle of the night so it disturbs everyone. I was passing by when I saw the crowd. They had to pry his fingers off the door to drag him out o, and he was screaming and sobbing something about " cutting down and taking that stick-figure cockroach " and " now they keep coming.".
